CHIEF OLU KOLEOSO, THE MAN BEHIND THE SCENE!
Olu Koleoso (a titled Nigeria Chieftain, and called “the Chief” by friends and relations) is the ‘brain’ behind ACCLAIM MUSIC COMPANY. He is a Barrister and Notary Public of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, called to the English and the Nigerian Bars. Having retired from legal practice, he is now in permanent residence in England.
He is a member of the Elim Pentecostal Church, a leading, and one of the oldest Pentecostal Churches in the world, having its Headquarters in Cheltenham, England. He helped to plant the Harlesden Branch of the Church, where he served as a Worship Leader for close to five years.
Olu Koleoso’s vision is to proclaim, in spiritual songs, the good news that salvation (from sin and the dire consequences of sin) is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. He has been empowered by the Holy Spirit to pursue this vision by developing a gift for songwriting while a member of Elim’s worship team; he has written over 200 songs, both in the Gospel and the secular genres, and continues to be inspired to write!
He has formed the Acclaim Music Company with the purposes, primarily of producing, recording, marketing, distributing and generally promoting the songs he has written. He also believes that Gospel music has grown phenomenally in the last 2o years, and will continue to do so in future. He has, therefore, been motivated to use the Acclaim Music Company as a vehicle for to help those with talents in the music business to liberate their potentialities.
Olu says his songs have been written primarily to celebrate Jesus. They are also for praise and worship; in this respect, they cut across denominational and age divides; he believes they are new and different in style, with a distinctly African flavour. He says they are the product of his new life in Christ and, for this reason, he has named them: NEW LIFE Gospel Music!
